Are you getting ready to make your animation portfolio for College or University in the next year or two? Enrolling in our Summer Animation Classes is a great way to steep yourself in the numerous necessary skills required to excel in the world of animation.

The goal of these classes is to help you develop some final drawings and animations that you’re incredibly proud of, and can use in your portfolios for animation schools worldwide.

Depending on what version you sign up for, you’ll be enrolled in different classes, but overall, here is a summary of the skills you’ll be developing:

• Developing a solid foundation of drawing skills applied to storytelling and design for animation production (Essentials)

• How to use digital painting to express a clear mood and story (Essentials)

• Various approaches to concept art and visual development within animation (Essentials)

• How to make dynamic, believable character designs for animation (Essentials)

• Walkthroughs of comic production, a parallel and applicable skill to animation to build your skills in visual storytelling broadly (Extra)

• How to animate characters using frame-by-frame animation techniques (or 2d) (Extra)

• How to 3D animate characters in Blender (Full)

• Understanding the language of filmmaking to improve your eye for storytelling, acting & performance, and using film language to express your drawings (Full)

This camp will be led by a variety of instructors that have either graduated from, or are currently attending, Sheridan College (Ontario, Canada) or The Animation Workshop (Denmark).

All in all, you’ll leave when a starter portfolio in-hand before the school year even begins!
